Raja Ampat - The Heart of the Coral Triangle

Manta Ray Swimming In Raja Ampat, Indonesia

In the heart of the Coral Triangle—often dubbed the lungs of the ocean—Raja Ampat stands as the epicenter of marine biodiversity. Here, the reefs flourish with 72% of the world’s coral species, including rare endemics and abundant marine life like manta rays, sharks, and fascinating muck diving critters. With the promise of awe-inspiring coral gardens and thrilling encounters with unique marine species, a liveaboard journey through Indonesia’s waters is an experience unlike any other.

HALMAHERA – Indonesia’s Hidden Gem

Continue east to Halmahera, an untamed frontier rarely visited by most liveaboards—and where we’ll cross the equator! Dive between hemispheres as you explore thriving coral gardens, pelagic-filled channels, and volcanic slopes alive with both big fish and rare macro life. In the Patinti Strait and around Bacan and Guraici Islands, strong currents fuel coral explosions and dramatic underwater topography. Halmahera bridges the best of both worlds—Raja’s color and Lembeh’s critters—with a wilder, more adventurous edge.

LEMBEH STRAIT – The Critter Capital of the World

Our journey finishes in the world-famous muck-diving haven of Lembeh Strait, known for its volcanic black sand and astonishing variety of bizarre marine life. This is where underwater photographers and macro lovers thrive.
Expect to see hairy frogfish, flamboyant cuttlefish, ghost pipefish, mimic octopus, and countless nudibranchs — all living among sponges, debris, and dark sand slopes. Every dive here reveals something weird, wonderful, and rare.

Travel Information

When it is time to book flights, we suggest booking your international fights into and out of Jakarta International Airport (CGK) for the easiest domestic connections to/from Sorong and Manado.

We advise spending at least one day in Jakarta on either side of your liveaboard dates to allow for possible changes to slight schedules and to ensure you are on time for your connections.

Domestic fights in Indonesia are often subject to delays, schedule changes and cancellations, resulting in missed connections and arriving after the designated embarkation time, or day.

If your delayed arrival is after the vessel has departed, you may be charged for the cost of arranging a speedboat transfer or for additional fuel required for Indo Master to return to port. With this in mind, we recommend booking flights to arrive the day before embarkation.
