Nothing beats diving with awesome people!
We just wrapped an unforgettable week in Roatan, Honduras, filled with incredible diving, endless laughs, and a little friendly competition (yes, we’re talking about Uno 😅).
From the moment we arrived, island life took over. Mornings started with sunshine and coffee before rolling into the warm Caribbean waters. Afternoons were spent swapping dive stories, exploring the reefs, and laughing over shared adventures. And evenings? That’s when the competitive spirit really shined.
We stayed at Mayan Princess Beach and Dive Resort, where the vibe was relaxed, the sunsets were golden, and the diving was just beautiful . Every day brought a new adventure — exploring the reefs, practicing buoyancy in calm Caribbean waters, and soaking up that easy island rhythm.

Island Days & Easy Living

The Diving
Roatan’s reefs truly delivered. Every dive offered something new — wrecks, schools of creole wrasse, seahorses, and the occasional curious turtle gliding by.
A few group favorites included:
-
Texas – A relaxing drift dive with endless schools of creole wrasse.
-
Blue Channel – A little bit of everything: walls, swim-throughs, turtle grasses, and plenty of seahorses.
-
Spooky Channel – Stunning topography with dramatic light beams through the reef.
We logged 18 dives total, many of them no-wetsuit warm — just how we like it!
A Note on the Reefs — and Why Awareness Matters
Rising sea temperatures over the past few years have caused bleaching and disease, leaving some once-iconic corals — like elkhorn, staghorn, and brain coral — as white skeletons. This is a direct reminder of how global warming is affecting even the most beautiful underwater ecosystems.
But there’s hope. The hard corals that remain are resilient, and local restoration efforts are making a difference. As divers, there are ways we can help:
-
Support local reef restoration projects.
-
Practice careful buoyancy and avoid touching corals.
-
Use reef-safe products (like Stream2Sea sunscreen) to reduce chemical impacts.
-
Share what we see — awareness is key to inspiring action.
Every dive is a chance to witness these effects firsthand, learn, and be part of the solution.
Memorable Moments
-
Uno Showdowns: Friendly card games turned epic — strategic, hilarious, and just a little competitive. 😂
-
Ziplining Adventure: Soaring over the jungle canopy with stunning ocean views — laughter guaranteed.
-
Night Dive: The reef came alive in a whole new way — glowing critters and surreal underwater ambiance.
-
Lionfish Hunt: Divers got certified, honed their aim (on coconuts first!), then teamed up to remove invasive lionfish. We even turned our catch into fresh lionfish ceviche!
- Deco Deepstop: We rescued the cutest piece of debris ever — a stuffed unicorn found at 100 feet!
-
Milestone Dive: Huge shoutout to Terri for celebrating her 500th dive! 🎉
Guest Review
Adreon and Corey took care of everything down to the smallest details making this vacation so relaxing 😎. Diving, eating, sleeping, pool time, Uno, conversation and memories to last a lifetime! I casually mentioned it would be fun to go zip lining while in Roatan and Adreon had it set up for our non-diving day. The accommodations were top notch, the diving was amazing, and the company was the best! Looking for a world class vacation without the hassle? Global Adventures for Scuba Divers and Other Cool People is your answer – check out the numerous trips offered on their website! You will not be disappointed!”
